e-Courts Project Report
For Phase II eCourts Project the process of procurement of all ICT hardware items and recruitment of Technical manpower for the CPC’s team is decentralized. With decentralization greater responsibility is being placed on the High Court to ensure that infrastructure, hardware and day-to-day issues are taken care of. For the purpose of Procurement of various items under eCourts, an e-Procurement Committee was constituted. The process of procurement of ICT items through e-tendering process for Meghalaya State Judicial Academy, DLSA’s, District Courts, Sub-divisional Courts, High Court is being taken up by High Court e-procurement committee.
For eCourts friendly Court Infrastructure (Building Designs), the State Government have also been requested to incorporate computer room, computer server room, Judicial Service Centre, connectivity, power, installation of multiple appliances in the plan and estimates for construction of permanent court buildings to make the court infrastructure ready for ICT enabled courts.
Status of eCourts Project on-going and completed
From the total amount of Rs 9,73,81,831/-received under eCourts Project, an amount of Rs 6,86,73,096/- have been utilized and an amount of Rs 2,87,08,735/- is yet to be utilized.
The status of eCourts on-going and completed project is at Annexure ‘A’, SMS report at Annexure ‘B’. Procurement of ICT equipments from the saved funds for the District Court at Mawkyrwat which is recently included under Phase II eCourts project will be done through GeMs.
